A Note From April Vincent

My 20-year-old self would not truly believe me if I told her how far this organization has come. I started The Vincent Foundation in 2019 as a passion project. It all started when I found out that our graduating class still had funds left over post-graduation. Being the class treasurer, I had to talk to the other class officers about how the money should be spent.

I was a college student at that time. I had finally figured out how to graduate from college with zero debt. The feeling was liberating, and I wanted other young people to feel that way, too. I asked my classmates, “what if we started a scholarship?” And so, The Vincent Foundation was born.

While we didn’t end up actually starting a scholarship, I did decide to use the money I was saving in college to give back to the community that built me. 4 years later, and The Vincent Foundation has supported 7 students as they’ve pursued higher education.

I’d like to thank my family, friends, and the community of Monticello, Arkansas for supporting The Vincent Foundation. A special ‘thank you’ goes out to my brother, Frank Watson for his unwavering support and love.
